1974 Dune Buggy — Porsche-Custom Build
Vehicle Overview
1974 Dune Buggy — Porsche-Powered Custom Build
This 1974 Dune Buggy is a professionally built custom that combines classic air-cooled performance with modern upgrades and engineering. Built by an engineer for his personal use, this buggy has been thoughtfully assembled with a focus on performance, reliability, and driving enjoyment.
Power comes from a Porsche 914-derived engine that has been bored and stroked to 1775cc, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a 1970 Volkswagen Super Beetle transaxle. The rear-wheel-drive drivetrain delivers a lightweight and engaging driving experience with plenty of power for cruising or spirited driving.
The chassis has been upgraded with a full roll cage and four-wheel disc brakes for added safety and performance. Additional modern touches include a Bluetooth audio system and staggered American Racing wheels measuring 17x8 up front and 17x9 in the rear, wrapped in Fusion tires sized 245/45R17 and 275/40R17.
With approximately 5,000 miles on the build, this buggy offers a unique combination of classic Volkswagen engineering, Porsche-inspired performance, and custom craftsmanship.
